Gulf Coast and beyond

ICF Gulf Coast became a chapter of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) when three professional coaches from Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana realized their vision of building a community for coaches. By early 2013, they established a chapter committed to creating support and connection among coaches throughout the Gulf States region. In 2014, the Gulf Coast became a chartered chapter of the ICF with established Bylaws

By 2015, new members from the Florida panhandle joined the now growing community, which now encompassed the Gulf states from Louisiana to Florida.

From the beginning of the chapter, members valued both virtual and face-to-face community. The chapter became a leader in developing online programs for professional development as a critical offering. Simultaneously, the chapter began hosting a yearly, in-person coaching workshop to provide an opportunity for members to connect, inspire and grow together.

Growth through professional development and community

As more professional coaches noticed the chapter’s active community, our membership has grown and now includes coaches from across the United States. Our chapter has expanded to new types of online and face-to-face programs, including two Special Interest Groups (SiGs) and Local Ambassador Meetups. We helped create the Southeast Regional Webinar Series, a collaboration of 15 ICF chapters in the United States’ southeast region to provide even more growth opportunities for professional coaches.

We are proud to continue to enhance our reach through innovative, high quality online events. If you’d like to be part of our community, please visit our Membership page.
