This workshop focuses on coaching social + emotional intelligence (S+EI), and how coaches can use this specialty to expand their coaching practices. Participants will receive an overview of S+EI why S+EI is important to their clients (both the business case and the health and wellness case for enhancing S+EI. Participants will receive an overview the 26 distinct competencies, and engage in several interactive exercises, and have the opportunity to take an assessment after the program so they may identify their own S+EI strengths and potential development needs. This program is designed as a highly engaging, content-rich, evidence-based and fun presentation that will support coaches in expanding their coaching business through social + emotional intelligence coaching.

1. Participants will take away an overview of the field of S+EI and its application to coaching, and specifically, how it can be used to enhance and expand our coaching practices.

2. Participants will have an understanding of how S+EI can be measured and the various assessment instruments on the market 

3. Participants will engage in several coaching exercises to increase S+EI, and receive a measure of their own S+EI by completing the scientifically-accurate and statistically-reliable Social + Emotional Intelligence Profile (SEIP).

About Amy Sargent

Amy has worked in education for over twelve years and has managed operations, marketing and client services for various organizations in the Denver area. She currently serves as Executive Director and Instructor at the Institute for Social + Emotional Intelligence, an online educational institution that instructs leaders, coaches, and HR professionals in coaching social + emotional intelligence. This role requires solid interpersonal skills, effective public speaking abilities, creative writing, and strong social media marketing as she connects with clients to establish rapport, engagement, and trust. Her background in teaching and ministry has given her a unique ability to relate easily with others in a professional yet authentic manner.

Amy completed her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Denver with an emphasis in Aesthetic Arts as well as an undergraduate degree in Theology from Ambassador University in Pasadena, California. She runs her consulting business, AdeptSupport Inc., and is a certified Social + Emotional Intelligence Coach, with certifications in Positive Psychology, Leader As Coach, and The Resilient Leader: Instilling Grit. When not working, she enjoys gardening, camping, adventure travel, kayaking, swing dancing, and writing inspirational personal narrative.
