Did you know you might be affiliated with our ICF chapter but not a member of the chapter?

It’s a common misconception that being a member of ICF Global and affiliating also grants coaches local chapter membership as well.

This isn't the case.

We encourage coaches to join Global ICF, but it’s important to understand that membership in any ICF chapter is not necessarily included in global association membership, even when global members affiliate themselves with a specific local chapter. 

Additionally, ICF Global members can join chapters outside of their geographic footprint, allowing them to connect with communities anywhere in the world. Members also have the option to be part of multiple chapters simultaneously, broadening their network and engagement opportunities.

For coaches who desire the benefits of participating in a smaller, more focused professional association with global reach, we invite you to join the ICF Gulf Coast chapter. 

Please consider joining ICF Gulf Coast for six important reasons:

• ICF Core Competencies and Code of Ethics. Our chapter members have committed themselves to the ICF Core Competencies and ICF Code of Ethics and most hold an ICF credential or are working toward one. 
• Online Professional Development. As a member, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in monthly webinars, Special Interest Groups, virtual discussions on topics of interest to meet our chapter commitment to providing 9.0 yearly CCEUs for all chapter members. 
• Remote Community. Looking for a community with like-minded peers? With our chapter, you can find the connections and network you’re looking for!
  
• In-Person Annual Workshop. The chapter hosts an annual workshop for yearly connection among members in a face-to-face environment too. We’ve held past conferences in Tuscaloosa, AL, Mobile, AL, and Jackson, MS. We held the 2019 in New Orleans, a location that proved so popular we revisited it in 2020.
  
• Leadership Opportunities. As a small chapter, we have numerous opportunities to grow your leadership skills through our Board of Directors, Local Ambassador program, planning committees or Special Interest Groups. In addition, innovative and creative coaches will be able to assist as we expand our portfolio of offerings for coaches and clients.
  
• Peer Networking. Our chapter includes a wide range of specialty coaching niches working with a diverse client population. Many opportunities exist to improve your collaboration and interaction with other coaches.
