ICF Gulf Coast Chapter Conference 2023: Pause and Listen

We're excited to offer ICF Gulf Coast's signature yearly conference, back in person April 3-4, 2023!

This year, we invite you to join us to Pause and Listen. As we put the challenges of the last couple years behind us, we're gathering together again to learn, grow and find community in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama. Our venue is a lovely golf resort near the white sugar sand beaches of the Gulf Coast.

Over two days, we'll pause to consider the power of intuition with Maureen Purcell, PCC and listen to the power of silence with Dr. Laura Janusik. We'll also take introspective moments using yoga and mediation with Anna Pantano.

Sand, sun, learning, mindfulness and a community of fellow coaches. What more could you ask for in a short getaway that will transform your 2023?

We hope you'll join us!

Won't you join us to Pause & Listen... to your intuition, to the silence, to your fellow coaches?

Session & speaker details

Join two of ICF Gulf Coast's most dynamic teachers for their interactive, half-day sessions:

Growing Your Coaching Presence Through Intuition

  • Coaches are naturally curious and often highly intuitive.  While intuition is listed as a sub-bullet under the ICF Core Competency of Embodies a Coaching Mindset, it isn’t often addressed in coach training beyond a mere mention. Coaches might be reluctant to ‘trust’ their intuition, let alone grow their use of this powerful coaching tool. Some coaches might trust their intuition but then may not be sure how or when to use it with a client.  This workshop is designed to explore intuition, identify ways intuition strengthens one’s coaching, and share intuition practices of other coaches.

Bring your curiosity, open mind and sense of play for this fun learning experience. You’ll find the time will fly by as we grow our intuitive senses together.

    Key Takeaways

    • Understand the interrelationships of using intuition to the Core Competencies:
    • Embodies a Coaching Mindset
    • Maintains Presence
    • Listens Actively
    • Evokes Awareness
    • Facilitates Client Growth
    • Identify different ways one’s intuition can present itself.
    • Practice the art of blending presence and active listening to access intuition.
    • Know how to apply the tool of intuition as a coach within your coaching sessions.

This session has been approved for 2.5 Core Competency CCEUs by the International Coaching Federation.

Her coaching credentials include an International Coach Federation (PCC) designation, Emotional Intelligence coach certification and a certified Mentor Coach.

Gain More Value for your Clients through Silence!

Whether you’re a beginning or advanced coach, who doesn’t want to provide more value for their clients? One of the biggest ways to provide value is by Holding Space, and large part of holding space is learning to be silent. Silence is a concept that’s a little confusing for beginning coaches and one that experienced coaches well understand. Join this experiential session where you’ll learn the latest research on what actually happens in the brain during silence as well as at least three new silence skills you can practice and put into effect immediately! And, don’t let the title fool you…this session is for both beginning and advanced coaches. There’s something for everyone!

Key Takeaways

  • Coaches will better understand how listening adds value to your client by learning the research on silence.

  • Coaches will learn and practice at least two techniques that they can put into practice immediately to make themselves and their clients more comfortable with silence.

Being present allows the coach to create a safe space for their client and connect to insights that create major shifts within their clients. This workshop is designed to explore how Mindfulness practices can help coaches master maintaining presence and lends to expanding a coaches ability to cultivate trust, evoke awareness and embody a coaching mindset that is client centered.

  • Learn and experience different ways to practice Mindfulness.
  • Know how to start applying Mindfulness to coaching to uplevel the ability to be present with clients in order to support self-expression and insights.

    Day 2: Mindful Movement

To truly understand what powerful presence is and how to bring it with you to your coaching it must be felt in your body not just understood intellectually. Accessing the soma (body) through movement is a powerful way to connect to presence and practice maintaining it.  The more presence is practiced the easier it is to maintain, the faster we can tell when we are not present and the easier it is to return to presence. This Mindful Movement class is designed to explore maintaining presence and cultivating trust in a safe environment. The method of movement can also be used in a coaching situation to help the client access insight and learning in a safe environment that is not available without the container of safety and presence.

    Key Takeaways

    • Explore how Mindful Movement is used to strengthen the following Core Competencies:

      • Embodies a Coaching Mindset
      • Cultivates Trust and Safety
      • Maintains Presence
      • Listens Actively
      • Evokes Awareness
    • Learn how to practice and maintain presence through experiencing it firsthand.

    • Experience trauma-informed mindful movement to learn how to cultivate trust and safety.
